KCS BUS TOUR 2010

OLYMPIC GAME FARM & PORT ANGELES

TIMELINE:

7:30 am------Check in (north parking lot opposite Kohl's)

7:45 am------Bus arrives

8:00 am------Depart Kitsap Mall

9:00 am------Arrive at OLYMPIC GAME FARM in Sequim. A tour guide will join us on the bus to talk about the animals we will be seeing as we drive through the park. There will also be some time to visit the gift shop.

10:40 am-----Depart for SALT CREEK RECREATION AREA The park is located on the Strait of Juan de Fuca 15 miles west of Port Angeles.  The site was used as a harbor-defense military base (Camp Hayden) during WWII and is now a scenic county park and campground.

11:30 am-----Lunch in the park: Boxed lunches will be provided by Honey-Baked Ham Cafe.  If you have not indicated your sandwich choice (ham, turkey or veggie), it will be ham.

12:15 pm-----Depart for Port Angeles waterfront

12:45 pm-----Visit OLYMPIC COAST DISCOVERY CENTER at Landing Mall; operated by NOAA, the center explains the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary with interactive displays and video taken from underwater submersible adventures.  This is a chance to learn about the ocean, underwater landscape and much more.

1:30 pm------Visit FIERO MARINE LIFE CENTER at City Pier: This is a marine exhibit facility, with live sea creatures and touch tanks that is devoted to protecting marine resources.

2:15 pm------Depart for PORT ANGELES FINE ARTS CENTER & WEBSTER WOODS ART PARK.  Northwest artists are featured with visual arts in all media.  In addition, the hilltop gallery offers sweeping vistas of the city, the harbor, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the horizons of Canada's Vancouver Island.

3:45 pm------Depart for home

5:00 pm------Return to Kitsap Mall
